The toe load measuring device is designed to accurately assess the toe load exerted by elastic rail clips during in-field operations. This advanced device utilizes an electronic load cell to measure the force applied by the toe of the rail clip onto the rail foot. Its modular architecture allows it to support various types of elastic rail clips, including ERC Mk III, Mk V, and similar international variants. The system operates by lifting the toe of the rail clip to gauge the downward force applied on one side of the rail foot.

With a load capacity of up to 2 metric tons, the device is compatible with all ERC variants used by Indian Railways and is also suitable for most rail clip types found in metro and railway systems worldwide. It features a pre-calibrated load cell integrated with a digital display unit, offering force readings in either kilogram-force (kgf) or kilonewtons (kN), depending on user preference.
